The protection of your personal data is a major concern for us. This Privacy Policy informs you how the app Wortello (hereinafter referred to as „the app“) handles information.

2. Collection and Processing of Data

„Wortello“ is an Android app for learning vocabulary (German ↔ English, Spanish, French). The app does not process personal data in the conventional sense:

– There is no user account and no registration.

– The app does not transmit data to any server and does not require an internet connection.

– The app has no `INTERNET` permission.

– No analytics, tracking, or advertising services are used.

All data is stored and processed exclusively locally on your device.

3. Disclosure of Data to Third Parties

The app

– collects no device IDs, location data, contacts, or other personal data,

– transmits no data to third parties, servers, or providers,

– uses no cookies, and no advertising or tracking services.

4. Text-to-Speech

For speech output, the app uses the text-to-speech engine installed on your device (Android Text-to-Speech). Speech synthesis takes place locally on the device.

Whether data is transmitted to the provider of your speech engine during speech output (e.g., when using network-based voices) depends solely on your system/engine settings and is outside the app’s control. The app itself does not forward any text to external services.

5. Data backup (Android backup)

If you have enabled Android backup, app data (learning progress, settings) may be backed up via your Google account and, if applicable, restored on another device. This backup is performed by the operating system and is subject to your Google account settings, not the app.

6. Permissions

The app requests no permissions. In particular, there is no access to the camera, microphone, contacts, location, files, or similar.

7. Storage and deletion

The data remains exclusively local on your device until you uninstall the app or delete the app data in the system settings. Deletion through us is not required, as no data is held by us.

8. Your rights (GDPR)

Since the app does not transmit any personal data to us and everything is processed only locally on your device, you can carry out complete deletion yourself at any time by uninstalling the app.

Notwithstanding the above: if you have any questions about data protection, you have the right to information, correction, and deletion, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. Please contact the party named in section 1 at any time.

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to adjust this Privacy Policy as necessary to adapt it to technical or legal changes.
